-
Why do you ask for an email address?
Sending correspondence via email speeds up the repair process - a Contract/Scope of Works can be issued, signed and returned for us to commence the repairs all in one day. This process can happen even if you are away from your property.
-
Can repairs be completed on weekends, as we work during the week?
It is your responsibility to provide adequate access to the property to enable our tradesmen to complete the repairs during normal business hours.
-
What is covered on my claim?
Before we commence any repairs, we will request that you sign a scope of works - this document will outline all of the repairs we have been authorised to proceed with on behalf of your insurance company. If you have any questions about the type of cover you have on your property, we strongly suggest that you contact your insurance company to discuss.
-
Do I have to pay an excess?
Your Insurance Company will discuss and arrange the collection of any excess that is due.
-
Who do I speak to?
You will be provided with contact numbers for the onsite supervisor/assessor for your claim, or you can contact our office on 07 5563 1000, with any queries you may have. We will endeavour to answer all of your questions, or have the required person call you back at your convenience.
-
Are fences covered?
The area of fencing is a complex issue - basically if the fence is a dividing fence, your Insurer will only cover half the cost of the fence repairs, as it can be considered you only own half of the fence. In most cases these claims are cash settled by your insurance company, less any excess payable. A front boundary fence is usually covered in full and repairs can be completed by Maintrade.
-
Does Maintrade use licensed sub-contractors?
Yes - all of our sub-contractors are fully licensed, and provide us with annual updates of all licenses and necessary insurances.
-
Why is my attendance required at the initial inspection?
We ask that yourself or a representative be present at the inspection to explain how the damage occurred, and to show our Supervisor/Assessor all areas that have been affected by the event.
-
What if extra damages are identified that have not been included in the Scope of Works?
You will be able to discuss any additional repairs that are required with our Repair Coordinator or your on-site Supervisor, If the additional repairs are deemed to be covered under your policy and claim, they can be included at a later stage. We will provide your Insurance Company with the required information for any of these additional repairs, in some cases approval will need to be obtained from your Insurance Company, before we can commence any additional repairs.
-
Why have several builders requested to attend my property?
Your Insurance company will quite often ask a couple of builders to attend and quote on the damages at your property, this is to ensure that you insurer is getting the best price.
-
I have received my scope of works, what does the maintenance repairs mean?
In some instances you may be required to complete some maintenance repairs at your property, prior to us commencing your Insurance repairs.
